THE ECHO has delved into the archives to bring out just a few memories of the nightclubs and discos of south Essex in the 80s and 90s.

From a foam party at the Kings Club on Canvey to a New Year’s Eve disco at Zero 6, we were there to capture the party atmosphere.

The Echo asked for your memories of clubs in south Essex and we had a great response on Facebook.

Tracey Lynch wrote: “Anyone remember Chesters/Waves on High Street? Think it's a bookmakers now.. you went downstairs to the club.”

Fiona Hutchison added: “You can't beat the old Tots days in the 90's!”

David Hawley remembered: “The tree on the edge of the dance floor in Request and getting a burger and chips in the upper bar, tables and chairs for couples on the balcony. Plus if you couldn't get in you could try The Factory.”
