ESSEX County Council will vote tomorrow on plans to invest £11million over the next five years on an anti-smoking service.
The authority proposes spending £11million between 2016 and 2021 on a Stop Smoking Support Service.
A council reports estimates 2,200 people die in Essex each year from smoking related causes.
The proposed new contract would save the council £1.7million over the five-year period – it currently spends £2.54million per year on antismoking services.
