FOXY comic Basil Brush is bringing his latest show to the Towngate Theatre. The bushy-tailed comedian is starring in the Fox Factor over two days at the Basildon theatre.
Having made a name for himself on children's TV in the Sixties, the cheeky fox soon secured his own show which ran from 1968 to 1980.
After spending most of the past 20 years in hibernation, Basil was coaxed out of his cosy hole to star in the Basil Brush Show on CBBC in 2002 where he found a new generation of fans.
His catchphrase - boom, boom - is still the same - and his antics and corny jokes are still captivating.
Paul Brace, manager of the Towngate Theatre, says: "We're delighted to have secured a true TV legend. Basil is sure to be a big hit with youngsters and grown-ups alike and who knows, we may even persuade him to change his name to Basildon Brush."
Joining Basil will be spellbinding wizard Keelan Leyser and guest stars Boney M-inem and the Creepy Crew who will amuse youngsters with their ultraviolet spooktacular.
Tickets cost £12.
