AN investigation has been launched after a motorbike was set on fire in front of a person’s home.
Fire crews from Leigh and Southend were called to the property on Satanita Road, Westcliff, at 1.30am today following reports a motorbike, which had been dumped in front of the property, was on fire.
Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the blaze within 20 minutes.
Watch manager Graham Ruse said: “The motorbike was dumped on someone’s drive and the owner (of the house) didn’t know whose it was.
“The motorbike was totally engulfed in flames and completely destroyed by the time we left.
“Police are going to investigate, as it could be the bike was stolen.”
