A RADIO presenter will swap her microphone for a bicycle as she prepares to take on a huge cycling challenge for charity.

Tracie Young, 42, from Southend, will ride from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for Little Havens Children's Hospice, in Thundersley.

Ms Young, formerly of Essex FM and now a presenter on the Dream network, will be covering 1,000 miles in 12 days.

Ms Young, a mum-of-two, said: "I decided to do the challenge after an on-air campaign to raise funds and awareness for Little Havens.

She said: "After I pledged to do the challenge, I felt a bit daunted by what I had taken on.

"But then I was invited to visit the hospice last summer and what I saw that day put all my doubts and fears into perspective."
