FIREFIGHTERS freed a man that was trapped in his car with spinal injuries after a crash in Basildon.
The collision happened around 8.45pm last night at Christopher Martin Road.
Sub Officer Howard Midwood, from Basildon fire station, said: "We had to extricate a person. There was a young man medically trapped with spinal injuries.
"We had to get him out of the car safely with paramedics.
"It took half an hour, we had to cut the doors off."
A spokesman from the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were call to a crash at 8.02pm.
“We sent an ambulance crew to that scene at Gardeners Way. We treated one patient, a man in his late teens.
“He was conscious and breathing.
“He was treated for minor injuries to his neck, he was in a stable condition and was taken to Basildon Hospital.”
