A VICTIM of a fatal road collision in Basildon will be "greatly missed", his family say.

Pedestrians Dean Evans, 35, and Carli Scott, 30, both died in a collision with a Volkswagen Passat in Roundacre, Basildon, on Tuesday evening.

In a statement, Mr Evans' family said: "Dean Evans, aged 35, was tragically killed in a road crash on the night of March 22.

"He was a dearly loved son, father, brother, uncle and friend to everyone who knew him.

"No funeral arrangements have been made at this stage.

"Dean will be greatly missed. He was loved so much.”

An investigation into the incident is being carried out by Essex Police's serious collision investigation unit.

A 26-year-old man from Laindon, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released on police bail pending further enquiries to report back on Monday, July 18.
