Gale force winds caused an aeroplane due for demolition to be blown on to the perimeter fence at Southend Airport.
It was over hanging the nearby road in Aviation Way Southend.
A Southend Airport spokesman said the derelict plane, owned by Trygon which operates from the airport, was recovered and made safe by 11am.
