PUPILS celebrated after Ofsted found their school no longer requires improvement.
Inspectors visited Wyburns Primary School, in Nevern Road, Rayleigh, and rated it good in March.
It had been ordered to improve in December 2013.
In the report, an Ofsted spokesman said: “Under the excellent leadership of the headteacher, the school has improved rapidly, especially over the last 18 months.
“Standards of work have been rising and pupils are achieving well.
“The headteacher and her senior leadership team have set a very positive tone and this supports a culture of high achievement and aspiration.
“Pupils are making good progress because they are well taught.
“They make strong progress in mathematics, particularly developing good skills in working with numbers and solving problems.”
The school was rated good in the five key areas of leadership, teaching, personal development, outcomes for pupils and early years provision.
Inspectors found pupils were polite and respectful to each other and tried their best in lessons.
They also noted that attendance at Wyburns is above average.
To improve further, inspectors suggested a focus on writing about complex ideas, and more engagement from governors.
