All have appeared in south Essex magistrates courts:

CONALL Regan, 21, of Thames Road, Canvey, was made the subject of an electronically-tagged curfew after he was found guilty of assault.

Regan denied assaulting Zarei Hardi on February 14 in Southend but was found guilty of the offence.

He further admitted resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty on the same date in Leigh.

Magistrates ordered him to abide by an electronically-tagged curfew for the three months, in which he must stay at home between 7pm and 7am daily.

He was ordered to pay £200 compensation - £100 for each victim - and to pay £400 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SIDNEY Alfonso, 39, of Park Street, Westcliff, admitted sending a threatening text message which caused fear and anxiety.

He admitted sending the message to Jomalou Alfonso on March 10 in Westcliff.

Magistrates handed him a six-month conditional discharge, ordered him to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

CHRISTOPHER Walker, 28, of Mansted Gardens, admitted stealing alcohol from the Co-op store in Sutton Road, Southend.

He was ordered to pay back £108.28 compensation to the store following the theft on November 30.

Magistrates also ordered him to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SAMUEL Williams, 28, of St Mary's Close, Benfleet, was fined £450 for sending three e-mails to a victim which he was prohibited from doing so by a restraining order.

He admitted the offence which took place between February 27 and April 16.

Magistrates also ordered him to pay a £45 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SHAUN Avison, 26, of Town Square, Basildon, was fined after police discovered he had cannabis on him.

He admitted the offence, which took place on December 23 in Basildon.

Magistrates fined him £70 and ordered him to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

The also asked for the cannabis to be forfeited and destroyed.

MARK Corper, 44, of Little Lullaway, Basildon, admitted drink-driving and possession of cannabis.

He was charged with possessing 19.7 grams of the class B drug in Basildon on April 1.

Magistrates fined him £267 and ordered that the cannabis be forfeited and destroyed.

He was further charged with driving a silver Ford Focus along Wickhay, Basildon, on the same date with 72 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the prescribed limit.

For that offence, he was fined £400, ordered to pay a £40 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Magistrates also disqualified him from driving for 20 months.

MICHAEL Darnell, 24, of Blake Hall Drive, Wickford, was disqualified from driving for a year after he admitted drug-driving.

He was charged with driving along Eastmayne, Basildon, on January 31 with cannabis in his blood.

Tests showed he had 3.3 grams of cannabis per litre of blood, which exceeded the specified limit.

He was fined £240, ordered to pay a £24 victim surcharge and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
