THE raw, raspy sounds of Howling Black Soul will be filling the four walls of Peggy Sue's Music Bar next week, when the dirty blues band return for their fifth monthly residency.
This time a special guest will be supporting the Southend three piece, "the one man blues band that is Paul Woodley".
Howling Black Soul say they initially sprang from a shared obsession for bands such as Led Zeppelin, Free, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath and other late Sixties/early Seventies blues. Feeling that this type of music was not being produced any more, they decided to do something about it.

The gig at Peggy Sue's Music Bar, in London Road, Leigh, starts at 7:30pm.
Admission is free.
