THE Big Southend Summer Rock show is returning next Saturday - June 18 - hosted by alternative rock band Ethereal Fire.

This time they have got rock favourites and comrades Minerva Falls and White Raven Down sharing the bill, on what promises to be a jam packed night if last year's event is anything to go by - it sold out.

It will take place at O'Neill's, High Street, Southend, at 8pm.

Tickets are £5 on the door.

Aside from getting ready for this event, Ethereal Fire say they have been taking some time out, to experiment with their new sound since the departure of their bassist last year.

Now as a three piece, they have been in the studio for most of the year so far, writing new material and shaping their style.

Front man Lee Pasifull, said: "At the Big Summer Rock Show we will be introducing not only our new sound as a three piece, but some new music.

"We've taken influence from artists such as Rage Against The Machine, Muse, Audioslave, Foo Fighters and Queens Of The Stone Age and fused a number of genres together into a ballsy original, powerful, original wall of sound."

Since their formation in 2010, Ethereal Fire have played up and down the country, recorded a full album and two EP's, gathering a large following along the way.

Expect a powerful mixture of metal and rock with a blues influence from Minerva Falls, while White Raven Down will open the night with their classic/groove rock sound.
