AFTER a year of planning and building, a new and ‘unique’ ride has opened at Adventure Island just in time for the summer holidays.

Adventureville, a state-of-the-art, multi-sensory experience designed specifically with younger visitors in mind, can be found on the site of former Devil’s Creek and is officially opening today.

It’s taken 12 months for the Adventure Island team to build at a cost of £682,000.

The ride lasts for 3-minutes and consists of a magical journey through the mystical village of Adventureville.

During the journey, the nine car train travels up and down hills, around tight curves and through a revolving tunnel giving the illusion of the train turning upside down.

The entire ride is an Adventure Island creation, designed and built on site by General Manager Robert Roberts and Creative Director Paul Clapp and their teams. The scenery was designed on computer by Paul’s brother- the Oscar nominated animator Martin Clapp.

Mr Roberts said: “We have a tradition of building our own unique rides at Adventure Island, and we have relished the challenge of building this new one, which will offer our visitors to the fun park an experience they simply won’t be able to find anywhere else.”

Marc Miller, Managing Director, added: “We are continually developing and expanding what we offer to our guests in order to give them reasons to keep coming back and visiting us.

"Adventureville is a significant development for us as it’s a ride you will not be able to experience anywhere else.”
