A FREE family fun day at Hadleigh Old Fire station was a roaring success, with crowds of residents turning up to show their support and enjoying all the activities on offer.
There was a zip wire for teddy bears, and live folk and jazz music which proved to be a big hit with the crowd,.
In addition, there was also plenty to entertain the younger members of the family with a soft ply area, bouncy castle, circus skills, arts and crafts and refreshments at Sunday’s community event.
The sunny weather was an additional bonus, which no doubt helped to boost the attendance and delighted the organisers, who voiced their appreciation for the bumper turn-out.
David Hurrell, organiser, said the ‘whole of Hadleigh’ turned up to show their community spirit and he voiced his thanks to those who came along to enjoy the day.
He said: “We all really enjoyed ourselves and underlined the community spirit that exists.
“Admittedly, we killed a couple of teddy bears who fell from a great height.”
He then joked: “Naturally, we will have to hold an inquiry into that.
“Nevertheless, we had a great turnout and the weather was extremely kind to us. That was a real bonus.
“We all had a great time and look forward to building on the success of this event next year.”
