A FARM park has welcomed some new arrivals.

Barleylands Farm Park, Billericay, is awash with tiny hooves this month as it welcomes its newest arrivals- two gorgeous Highland cross calves.

The playful pair, Chinook and Apache, were both born in the first week of August to proud parents, Highland sisters Annie and Flora and miniature Dexter bull dad, Shorty.

They are the first ever Highlands calves to be born at Barleylands.

They rarely leave each other’s side, and although they will always be small in stature they are very hardy and can thrive in extreme conditions.

Dave Finkle, farm manager said: “We are besotted- Chinook and Apache are adorable and very unique, in fact their cross breed is so rare they may be the first of their kind in the country.

“We can’t wait to watch the playful pair grow and adapt to life at Barleylands!”

Highland cattle are not the only special breed at Barleylands, as the park also has an Iron Age pig and a flock of Gotland sheep.
