A GROUP of volunteer police cadets, who have been training across Basildon and Southend, got to grips with 999 calls and exercising police dogs during a special activity day.
The six cadets were invited to spend time with different sections of police force, as well as spending time in the police and crime commissioner’s office.
The cadets also spent time in the Force’s Control Room listening to 999 calls as they came in and they learned more about how callers and dispatchers dealt with incidents.
The team took part in training exercises with police dogs Pablo and Carter and were presented with certificates for their hard work at the end of the day by chief constable Stephen Kavanagh.
