TOWIE’s Dan Edgar has made a generous donation to a Southend charity after dropping in to a local jewellers this week.
Dan popped in to Renalls Jewellers in Clifftown Road to buy a few Christmas gifts.
After being offered a £100 discount on his purchases, Dan asked for the £100 be donated to local homeless charity, Harp. He then added another £100 which Renalls matched, making a grand total of £300 donated to the worthy cause.
Shopowner Del Gaisford, who served Dan when he came in, said: “I don’t watch Towie but he completely proved my preconceptions of the show to be wrong.
“He just came in and didn’t make a fuss and once the staff recognised him, he was very accommodating. It’s Essex people giving back to Essex and he’s a credit to the show and the younger generation.”
