CONTROVERSIAL X Factor star Honey G will be hitting a Southend nightspot next month.

The rapper will be appearing at De Vignes, in Warrior Square, on Friday, January 27.

Former DJ turned nightclub boss Dick De Vigne, said: “Love her or hate her you just cannot ignore her. Never before has our Facebook page had so many comments about an event!”

Many comments have slated the booking as “scraping the barrel”.

However, despite her unusual parody rap style, the performer - real name Anna Gilford - gained a legion of fans during her time on the ITV competition.

She will be releasing her first single two days before Christmas after being signed to Simon Cowell’s SYCO label.
