HIGH winds are expected as storm Doris makes its way to the UK.
In southend, the pier and the High Street Market is cancelled due to the strong winds.
A council spokesman, said: “Due to the high winds, the Pier is unfortunately closed until further notice and today’s market is also cancelled.”
At Southend Airport, a small number of flights have had delays including the 10.25am flight to Geneva which is now expected to depart at 12.30pm.
The 7.30am to Amsterdam also departed 12 minutes late this morning.
