IT is a case of double, double trouble for teams facing the C&K Ladies Football Club...as two sets of twins are ready to kick off!

Georgia and Jasmine Young, both 16, and Angela and Therese Addison, both 17, joined the Basildon-based women’s club in August and have spent the past few months making their opponents see double.

Manager Steve Tilson, former Southend United boss, admits he sometimes struggles to work out which sister is which during training sessions and matches on Sundays.

He said: “Yes it can be very confusing. With Angela and Therese I have to go by the colour of their football boots in order to tell who is who but with Georgia and Jasmine I’ll admit I haven’t got a clue, it’s all guess work!

“During matches it’s a bit easier as they all play in set positions but it’s really difficult during training as there is often a lot more interaction between positions on the pitch.”

Georgia and Jasmine’s mum Annabel Young said: “They all just get called Twinny, it can be quite funny when people get them mixed up.”

Angela and Therese’s dad Darren Addison, added: “It’s quite something when they are all on the pitch together but everyone is getting used to it a a little bit now.”

But having two doubles on the team is not exactly plain sailing for the twins either.

Angela said: “It was strange at first as we can’t tell them apart! It can be quite confusing when we are playing and our manager doesn’t know who is who - but I think he jokes around.”

Her sister Therese added: “It’s weird because I never thought we would play with another set of twins - I think that’s quite rare. But it’s good fun.”

Georgia said: “It’s quite fun being twins on the team; we like to sometimes play tricks on our team mates and swap around!”

Jasmine added: “We’ve never come across another set of twins before but it’s cool as you have something in common.

“It can be funny when everyone gets us mixed up but we both just turn around now when they call out our names as we know they want one of us!”

The Young twins, of Leighlands Road, South Woodham Ferrers, are studying Sport at Seevic College.

Angela, who lives with her sister in Templar Road, Braintree, has now moved up to the Basildon club’s first team and hopes to soon be joined by her sister Therese, who is recovering from a knee injury.

However, despite the identity difficulties, Mr Tilson added: “All the girls are showing great talent, they all want to improve.”
