LEGENDARY Basildon vocalist Alison Moyet will return to her home town in the second part of a new BBC radio series.

Alongside Radio 2’s Janice Long, the chart-topper known for hits such as Love Resurrection and All Cried Out will look back on her past as she strolls through the streets of Basildon to old childhood haunts, schools, and the venues where Alison started her career.

She was a part of a generation of musicians who attended the former Barstable School that changed the soundscape of Britain in the early 1980s.

Alongside Depeche Mode, Alison Moyet was one of the Basildon musicians who left an indelible mark on the town’s musical heritage.

She teamed up with school friend and former Depeche Mode member, Vince Clarke, to create Yazoo with whom she enjoyed one of her biggest hits, Only You.

Alison is still going strong nearly 40 years later with the release of her latest album, Other, which was came out in June.

A Long Walk with Alison Moyet will start at 10pm on BBC Radio 2 this evening.
