A ROCHFORD scout group has been awarded a large donation from Rochford Council for work to improve their scout hall.
Carole Weston, councillor for Hockley and Ashingdon, visited the fourth Rochford Scouts at John Howard Hall in Hall Road, Rochford to award the young group a cheque for £800.
The group will use the money to refurbish the kitchen inside the hall.
The fourth Rochford Scouts were one of three groups in the district to be awarded the donation.
Mrs Weston was at the helm of a number of events that raised the cash to help different community projects.
She raised all the funds to help Rochford’s young scouts during her time as the chairman of Rochford Council from May 2016 to May this year.
