A choir from Southend High School for Girls has performed at the Royal Albert Hall’s Verdi restaurant.
The Novem Consort choir formed in 2015 at the school and has gone from strength to strength.
The members of Novem Consort change each year with the departure of Year 13 students to university.
Current members include two members of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and a student at the Royal College of Music Junior Department.
Their performance at the Verdi restaurant included works by Taverner, Mendelssohn, Poulenc and Sullivan as well less familiar repertoire.
There was also a contemporary piece with a poem set to music penned by a choir member.
