Work has begun to restore the sails of Rayleigh’s 200-year-old Grade II listed windmill.
The work involves removing the four sails from the windmill and transporting them for restoration.
The sails have now been taken down.
The windmill is also closed for internal redecoration and repairs.
The iconic sails are set to be reinstalled sometime during spring next year.
