A person has been hit by a car outside a Co-Op in Westcliff, injuring her hip.
The woman in her 70s was rushed to Southend Hospital after being hit by the car on Hamlet Court Road at around 1:51pm today.
Although her hip has been hurt, her condition is not thought to be serious.
A spokesman for EEAST said: "We were called at 1.51pm today to a report of a collision between a car and pedestrian in Hamlet Court Road.
"An ambulance crew attended to a report of a woman in her 70s with hip injury.
"She was taken to Southend University Hospital for further care.
"Her condition is not believed to be life-threatening or serious."
Hamlet Court Road is still partially blocked in both directions between Burdett Avenue and St. John’s Road following this collision.
