Two teenagers were fined £105 in costs and referred to a youth offending team for 12 months for burglary.
They were arrested by detectives investigating a number of break-ins that occurred in Benfleet on Friday, December 22.
The 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl, both from Basildon, appeared before magistrates in Chelmsford on Saturday, December 23.
They cannot be named due to their ages.
The boy was charged with burglary with intent to steal, three counts of burglary and theft, two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, and one offence of attempted theft of a motor vehicle.
The girl was charged with burglary with intent to steal, three counts of burglary and theft, two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, and one offence of attempted theft of a motor vehicle and assaulting a police constable.
Both appeared before the youth offending panel on December 29.
They were each fined £105 in costs, and referred to the youth offending team for 12 months.
