A WOMEN’S group have donated a colourful array of handmade blankets to St Luke’s Hospice.
Seven members of the Wickford Women’s Institute have hand knitted two specially made patchwork blankets to donate to the hospice in Nethermayne, Basildon.
The Wickford group who meet at Christchurch Hall, High Street on every second Monday of the month have been running since the First World War.
The Women’s Institute are now one of the biggest volunteering groups in the UK.
The group’s donation will be given to the patients at the hospices in Basildon and Thurrock who are being treated for life threatening of life limiting diseases.
