A motorbike has crashed into a jewellers after a suspected robbery.
The bike crashed into the front of Coleby's Jewellers in the High Street, Billericay, after residents say there was an attempted robbery at the shop.
A resident, who asked not to be named, said: "I walked past the shop before the police got here.
"I didn't see any people who had been hurt, but there was a blue transit van with a smashed window, parked half on the pavement.
"One bike had crashed through the jewellers' door and another was outside.
"There was blood by the bike in the doorway of the jewellers but nobody was there.
"I was told by other people there were four bikes involved, I assume they ran away without their bikes after crashing into the shop."
The Echo have contacted Essex Police for comment following the incident.
