A Seevic College student has been highly commended by judges at the Royal Opera House after taking part in a design competition.
Lewis Cannon, media and theatrical make-up student, took part in the prestigious annual Design Challenge competition.
The competition gives students the chance to test their creativity on opera or ballet production. Lewis scored a ‘highly commended’ mentions for Lewis’ Hair, Wigs and Make up Design.
Lewis, 16, from Eastwood, said: “I was quite proud to hear I had been put forwards for the competition by my teachers, especially as I’m only in my first year and been here five months. There was a lot of work that went into it.
“It’s very surreal to think that my work is going to be displayed in a place where Alexander McQueen and Vivien Westwood’s work have been exhibited.”
