RODDY Radiation needs no introduction - he's Rockabilly Rod, original guitarist with the Specials, who wrote several of their hits including Poor Little Rich Girl, covered by Amy Winehouse.

This Saturday night - February 3 - he'll be sharing the stage with the world renowned Southender Steve Hooker and his Stripped Down Stompin' Band at the Railway Hotel.

Rod and Steve have been friends for years.

Their Bands have appeared together in Coventry, London and Torremolinos and Rod is featured on Steve's homegrown compilations Garage Kings and Junkyard Angels,

Shrink To Fit Volume 2 and Leather Soul Volume 1.

"Me and Rod are like musical brothers - he mixes the ska, punk and rockabilly like we do with the rockabilly blues and soul and we both love American History particularly the Civil War" said Steve.

"We'll be playing our set as a trio - Rod with play his hits and originals solo - then it's likely we'll end the night on stage together if there's a JD and Coke on my Amp"
