WESTCLIFF High School for Boys is celebrating its remarkable achievement in school league tables.
The school achieved the top score in Southend schools under the Government’s new measure Attainment 8 and Progress 8 and was rated “well above average”.
Headteacher Mike Skelly said: “We were delighted with our Attainment 8 and Progress 8 scores which reflect the hard work and dedication employed by our pupils and staff.
“League tables are just one measure of success of a school and we are always seeking to develop rounded individuals who have experienced education in its broadest sense.
“I would like to commend and thank all those in our school community for the commitment they have shown to their studies.” Former governor Noel Kelleway said: “It is down to a lot of hard work on everybody’s part.”
