Aldi is recalling 38,000 bags of frozen veg after a horrified customer found half a rat inside one.
The supermarket giant has issued a recall for the bag of mixed greens and launched an urgent investigation.
It comes after a grandmother found bits of rodent in the product while feeding her granddaughter lunch.
Pat Bateman, 60, told The Sun: "We had eaten almost all of the bag before we saw it - and what’s even worse - I fed it to my youngest granddaughter.
"It’s a wonder none of us ended up physically ill."
She took the evidence back to her branch of Aldi near Liskeard, Cornwall, where a manager apologised and offered her £30 off her next shop.
However Mrs Bateman didn't feel the company were taking it seriously enough so she sent pictures to Aldi's head office.
She has since been offered £500 compensation but still doesn't feel this is "enough".
