YOUNG carers have created artwork on their offices as the building is officially opened.

The White House is based behind the Castle Point Borough Council offices, in Kiln Road, Thundersley.

It was opened by mayor Brian Wood, MP Rebecca Harris, leader of Castle Point Council Colin Riley and councillor Ray Howard.

It is run by Carers Choice, a locally based charity supporting young carers.

Part of the White House building is also now their dementia day care centre.

Heather Harcott, young carers coordinator, was thrilled with the opening of the new building.

Mayor Brian Wood said: “Thank you to Heather and her colleagues for a wonderful welcome for my visit to see their premises.

“I would urge residents to contact them and find out a little more about the excellent service they provide within our community.”
