Essex Police are carrying out investigations over rap star Nelly's alleged sexual assault on a fan after a gig in Southend.

The woman claimed the rapper molested her after she asked him for a photo after his show at Cliffs Pavillion on December 5 last year.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We are investigating after a woman reported to us that she was sexually assaulted at an address in Station Road, Westcliff on December 5, 2017. Enquiries are ongoing."

The woman alleged the singer put his hand tightly behind her and asked if she could stay behind and talk to him.

Nelly's lawyer, Scott Rosenblum said the claims were not new and said the rapper welcomes Essex Police's investigations.

As quoted in TMZ news, the star allegedly asked the fan and her friends to come into his dressing room.

She said the rapper asked her to go to a room next door where he allegedly performed an indecent act in front of her.

She claimed he asked her to do sex act on him. She said she run out of the room afterwards.

The woman did not report the incident to the police as she thought nobody would believe in her.
