The first Starbucks drive thru in Southend is set to open tomorrow.

Southend’s MP James Duddridge will cut the ribbon to officially open the store at 11am, as part of the opening day’s celebratory activities.

The drive thru store aims to be the perfect location for residents and commuters to grab a coffee on-the-go.

It will also offer relaxing indoor seating areas and free Wi-Fi for families, friends and local shoppers who want to meet up and relax.

During the event the store team will be hosting a coffee sampling session of the new Spring menu, which includes a range of Teavana Tea Lattes, to welcome in the local community to the new store.

The store will support local charity, the Isaiah Project, who will also be attending the store’s opening.

The Isaiah Project provides support to vulnerable and disadvantage people, enabling them to gain the life and social skills they need to get back on their feet and build their independence.

Frederike Rhodes, Property Development Manager at Starbucks franchisee 23.5 Degrees, said: “We’re so excited to open the doors to our first ever drive thru in the area, at Greyhound Retail Park.

"We are looking forward to welcoming in our local residents at our official opening, and are thrilled that James Duddridge MP, as well as representatives from Isaiah Project, will be joining us to cut the ribbon and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee!”

The Starbucks store is located at Unit 4, Greyhound Retail Park, Greyhound Way, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, SS2 5PY and will be open Monday to Friday from 6:30 am - 9 pm, Saturday from 7:30 am – 9 pm and Sunday 8:30 am – 8 pm.
