Stanford-le-Hope's very own Ruti Olajugbagbe will be taking a break from performing on national TV and and is making a surprise appearance at the Jack Petchey Foundation's Achievement Awards Ceremony in Thurrock.
18-year-old Olajugbagbe is a participant on The Voice UK and is in Tom Jones's team.
She made it through to the next round after beating fellow contestant, Saskia Eng, in a battle singing Dog Days Are Over by Florence and the Machine on Saturday, March 10.
She is will now be performing at the awards ceremony in Thurrock this Wednesday at the Backstage Centre in Purfleet.
