Police have arrested a man on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and possession of cannabis following a pursuit in Southend today, Saturday, April 21.
Officers signalled a car to stop on the A127 Southend at around 12.45am before it drove off at speed and was initially lost.
Following some investigative work and with the assistance of the police helicopter, police were able to relocate the car before it collided into a bollard in Hawtree Close at around 1.15am.
A 35-year-old man from Walthamstow was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
He is now in custody for questioning.
