A BRAVE teenage stroke survivor plans to walk the length of Southend Pier to raise funds for a specialist hospital ward.

Elise Bresnihan, 15, was initially unable to breath without a ventilator, or speak, and was paralysed down her right side, after suffering the attack three years ago.

But the plucky youngster, of Harewood Avenue, Rochford, is training for the challenge which she hopes to do next summer in aid of Southend Hospital's StrokeBusters appeal.
