I read about NHS patients apparently not getting offered enough food, or the food of their choice.
I work on Rochford Ward at Southend Hospital and I have to say on our ward, patients receive the utmost choice.
If they are of a specific religion, they are ordered special meals which come pre-packed and are only opened by the patient or a member of staff, for that particular patient.
If a patient has to have a special diet, the dietician comes to talk to them and they are provided with special supplements.
We feed any patients who need help with their food at all mealtimes.
What each patient has eaten all through the day is recorded on a food chart.
Some people may not be happy, but it is not for the lack of effort on the hospitals' part.
