BUSINESSES across Basildon helped students experience potential future careers.
Year Ten pupils from the Basildon Academies took part in their work experience placements over two weeks to support their personal aspirations for their future.
Students were given the opportunity to work at Audi, Barnardos, Barleylands Equestrian Centre, Baxter Harries Solicitors, The British Museum, Essex County Council, Orsett Hospital, Virgin Media and many primary and nursery schools.
After completing the work experience several students were offered Saturday jobs, and the possibility of apprenticeships.
Headteacher Gary Smith said: “We have received so much positive feedback from employers regarding our students. We are extremely grateful to all of the employers that offered placements. I would like to thank them all for their support.”
Christopher Hawkins, who spent two weeks with Baxter Harries Solicitors, said: “Getting experience in a similar environment where I want to work has been a great opportunity.”
