Three Ukip councillors have left the party
Three Ukip councillors have left the party following the most recent local election.
Basildon Council has just confirmed that Ukip councillor Jose Carrion, or Pitsea South East, has resigned.
There could be a by-election called to fill his position.
This is the third resignation from the party, following on from Derrick Fellowes and Stephen Hodge announcing they were quitting the party earlier today and forming an independent party.
Ukip now has two seats on the council.
