THE fifth Play on the Pitch football match is set to take place at Southend United’s Roots Hall this evening.
The annual event, which is set to see staff from Barclays and Southend Business Professionals go head-to-head, will raise funds for Havens Hospices.
The teams will be managed by Blues legends Adam Barrett and Steve Tilson, who will also don their boots.
Shrimpers manager Chris Powell said: “The care and support that Havens give to the local community is completely free of charge and the charity has to raise over £100,000 every week in order to do this.
“I hope this year’s Play on the Pitch raises a record amount of money for Havens.”
The clash will kick-off at 6pm, with gates opening at 5.30pm.
