Police are appealing for information about a serious collision at the junction of The Broadway and Johnstone Road, Thorpe Bay, at around 11.30am yesterday, Saturday, July 14.
Officers received reports that a black Porsche Cayenne and a black Vauxhall Astra were in collision and the Astra also collided with a tree.
A passenger in the Astra, a woman aged in her 90s, was taken to hospital for her injuries, which are now described as life threatening.
Police closed the road for a short period today to carry out a forensic examination of the road.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dash cam footage or any other information is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting incident 563 of the 14/07 or email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.uk.
