THIS weekend will see a plethora of favourite Southend bands including Slim Pickings, Primo Nelson, Platypus and Tuppenny Bunters go across the water to play on a Kent farm, in aid of a local animal sanctuary.
Also joining the line up of homegrown talent are the Salt Demons, Owen Williams, the Dirty Fairies and the Beatniks, all playing to raise money at the event which is Friend Festival 2018.
They will join a mass of bands from other parts of the country.
The festival, completely run by volunteers as is the sanctuary, is held at the F.R.I.E.N.D Farmed Animal Sanctuary in Linton View, Bush Rd, East Peckham, Tonbridge.
It is a vegan event, with catering onsite, so visitors are asked to respect the meat and dairy free principles.
Free camping is open from the start of the festival on Friday evening, until the end on Monday morning.
Admission is £25on the gate while kids under 16 go free.
