AN MP visited a housing associations module home factory.

Mark Francois, MP for Wickford and Rayleigh visited Swan Housing Association's modular factory to get an inside look at how the homes are put together and their importance.

On arrival, Mr Francois was given a short presentation not only on Swan’s approach to precision engineered homes but also the potential for growth and the clear demand from local authority and other housing association partners.

Following this, he was taken on a tour of the factory, where he was clearly impressed by the scale of Swan’s operation, as well as its approach to delivering more homes, more quickly.

Finally, the group visited the show homes and marketing suite at Swan’s Beechwood development, where the team demonstrated their unique configurator, which gives buyers the opportunity to customise their new home, much as you might play a role in the design of a new car.

Mr Francois said: "I had a really enjoyable and informative visit this morning, where I have seen a highly advanced factory for building homes for the 21st century.

"It’s great to see innovative methods like this being used to provide homes for people across South Essex."
