FORMER Special Boat Service Sargeant Jason Fox will be making a guest appearance at Parkstone Yacht Club youth sailing regatta tomorrow.

Jason, also known as 'Foxy' from the hit TV series Who Dares Wins, is a friend of the sailing club and he'll be giving youngsters some motivational talks.

After joining the military aged 16, Jason went onto become a Royal Marines Commando then a serving member of the elite Hamworthy-based SBS.

Now he works in film and television.

His latest project, which debuted on Channel 4 last Thursday, is the documentary 'Meet the Druglords: Inside the Real Narcos', which provides a glimpse into the world of real drug cartels in Columbia, Mexico and Peru.

The 35-year-old interviews a host of important and dangerous people, including hitman John Jairo Velasquez, who at one point was Pablo Escobar's right-hand man.

Every year Parkstone Yacht Club hosts the largest youth sailing regatta in Europe.

In 2017 nearly 300 youth sailors took part from all over the UK.

A club spokesman explained: "The whole week will be jam-packed with thrilling racing for sailors, aged four to sixteen, as well as exciting activities taking place.

"There are plans for the young sailors to attempt to break the world 'flossing' record and there will also be a celebrity dropping by.

"Friend of the club Jason Fox, 'Foxy' from Channel 4's SAS Who Dares Wins will be coming down for some motivational talks to the young sailors on Tuesday.

"The event is always well-supported by local businesses. This year is no different. Quostar, a Bournemouth-based IT company, RWD a Hampshire-based super yacht design company as well as Cheshire based high end security system design company Sensory International are all keenly backing this inspiring week.

"This is a huge event in youth sailing on the south coast and across the UK."

The Youth Week Sailing Regatta started at Parkstone Yacht Club on Sunday, and continues up until Friday.
