A FAMILY want answers after a young mother died tragically and unexpectedly in her sleep.

Chloe Dunk, 20, was at her Southend home with her one-year-old son and her boyfriend when she went for a nap.

Her boyfriend and another friend visiting at the time attempted to perform CPR on her until paramedics arrived but they could not wake her.

Despite their best efforts, as they worked to revive Chloe for an hour-and-a-half, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chloe’s mother Natalie Dunk, who also lives in Southend, said three months later the family still have no clear answers as to what caused her death.

Natalie, 40, said: “It has been such a difficult time and we don’t have an official ruling on what caused Chloe’s death. All tests and examinations show her to be a very healthy young woman.

“We are just waiting for a final report on her brain next week and if that comes back clear which we think it will then it will be ruled as adult sudden death syndrome. It is such a tragic loss of such a special young woman.”

Chloe worked at the Lamb and Lion in Westcliff who held a fundraiser for Chloe’s son Raheem.

Raheem has now moved in with Natalie after his father, Chloe’s boyfriend, was unable to take over the lease of her home following her death in May.

Natalie added: “Raheem has coped amazingly well and celebrated his second birthday a couple of weeks ago.

“He has settled into a nice routine here with nanny and has given me the strength to face each day.”

The family has been able to arrange Chloe’s funeral and are inviting anyone who would like to pay their respects to the service.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 15 at 1.45pm at St Mary’s Church Prittlewell. Everyone is welcome to attend the church service and the wake but only family and close friends are invited to the burial itself.

The wake is to be held at Atlantis bar on the seafront. People will be invited to make their way there after the church service. Flowers or donations can be sent to T Cribb funeral directors in Leigh.
