A driver was arrested after crashing a car he took without consent into a bollard in Billericay.
PC Si Bailey was on duty with Pc Horton, in Billericay dealing with the crash yesterday evening.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were contacted shortly before 5pm on Thursday, August 9, with reports of a collision involving a Mini Cooper and a Vauxhall Corsa in London Road, Billericay.
"No-one was injured.
"The Corsa driver, a 29-year-old man from Pitsea, was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving while unfit through drink or drugs and driving without insurance. He was released under investigation while enquiries continue."
