AN ANNUAL fun day for children held at a Southend park proved an absolute hit with children.

The fancy dress children’s day in Priory Park returned after the huge success of last year, and it was bigger and better than before.

The event saw children and parents take part in a range of fun activities and games which took place throughout the day.

The activities included “little scrummers rugby”, a bouncy castle, face painting and much more.

The Little Riders horse organisation was also at the fun day and offered children a chance to enjoy rides on their ponies.

A competition was held to find the best dressed visitor, with dozens of children taking part in the contest for the crown of best dressed.

The best dressed winner was Umpa Lumpa Noah Moore.

It was sponsored by 360Play in Basildon and was designed for children aged eight and under.

After two successful years it is hoped even more children will go next year and the event will grow and grow.

It was held in conjunction with Southend Bid.

Ricki Melly, 30, manager at 360Play Basildon, said: “It went really well and the event was very well received by our visitors on the day.

“We had so much going on during the event.

“We also had great feedback.”
