A CHARITY held an annual fundraising tea party event and collected more than £700.
Dementia charity Peaceful Place held the fundraising event at Porters the Mayors Parlour, Southend on Saturday August 4.
The guests at the event enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with plenty of sweet treats.
There was also a special guest at the summers event, mayor of Southend, Derek Jarvis.
All the food, drink and raffle prizes were donated.
Some of the business and people that donated included The Cream Tea Society, Golden Crust Bakery, Hockley and Pam and Tony Acott,
Lyn Smee, volunteer with the charity, said: "What more could we want for this summer fundraising event. Delicious food and perfect weather in beautiful surroundings at Porters, the Mayor's Parlour. We raised £791 for the Day Centre in Dalys Road, Rochford, for our members aged 40 to 65 with Young Onset Dementia.
"So a fantastic result and thank you to everyone that came along to support us!"
The organisation aims to improve the lives of people with young onset dementia and those that care for them.
